Addison + Clay : Our Experience

Meet Addison & Clay Guelker.

They tied the knot this past September and their wedding day was none less of breathtaking.

I had the pleasure of asking Addison a few questions about her wedding day and here is what she said…

What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?

“When I replay our wedding day in my head, the first thing I think of was our vows. We each wrote our own and seeing Clay be emotional with what he was vowing to me is something that I’ll never forget. Keep in mind, I’ve dated Clay over 3 years and never saw the guy cry until that moment.”

What is one thing you wish you would have done differently?

Man, that’s a tough one. Luckily, there wasn’t anything that turned out bad. Flowers, cake, decor, our dresses, grooms outfit, hair and makeup, it all went according to plan and the wedding started on time! So either I was super laidback that day and don’t remember anything being horrific, or it really all worked out perfectly! I’m glad we did write our own vows and am also glad we didn’t do a first look!”

What was your experience like working with the staff at Eberley?

“The staff at Eberley was very professional and did a great job at catering my needs. They really helped my vision of what I wanted come to life and were very lenient on whatever I wanted. My mom had planned on putting up all of the decor I wanted, and thankfully it was a huge relief off her shoulders that we ended up hiring them to put up everything. And they did a great job too! If I didn’t like something I’d tell them and they changed it. No questions asked.”

Any tips for future brides?

“Easier said than done, but don’t sweat the small stuff. I wanted the groomsmen to have the same type of jeans and unfortunately, all but one didn’t have the exact same pair. And honestly.. it did not make one bit of difference. At the end of the day, your wedding is about you and your husband and your covenant with God. And literally nothing else will matter on that day as long as each of you show up. That is all you’ll care about. And you also only get married one time so if your mom or anyone who wants you to do things differently, stand up for what you want. It’s about YOU. Not them.”

What is going on in yours and Clay’s life nowadays?

“Well we are very much still in the honeymoon phase so he hasn’t gotten on my nerves quiet yet. But we are actually expecting a little baby boy in exactly one month!! Crazy how life changes, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.”

What has been the best moment so far in the first year of marriage?

“The best thing, and I know Clay would say the same thing, but is definitely coming home to each other every day. To know someone is always going to be there and have your back day in and day out really has made life more enjoyable. And of course its nice wearing no makeup and comfy clothes and he still looks at me like he did on our wedding day!”

Addy, thank you for sharing your heart & your experience here at Eberley. It was such an honor to serve you and Clay on your special day.

We pray endless blessings upon you and your family with your new little addition on his way.

With love, Hannah
