Why should you take bridal portraits?

One question we get a lot is why a bride should do bridal portraits before the wedding. Other than getting a BOMB new Facebook profile picture there are 5 good reasons you should .

Makeup and Hair Trial

This is a great opportunity to do a trial run with your hair and makeup team. It gives them the chance to try out what you want. If you have paid for a trial but don’t plan to do bridals..why not? Your hair and makeup is done, why not throw on your wedding dress and get some great pictures!

Uncomfortable Dress

We know you try on your dress during alterations to fit you just RIGHT, but there's certain things about wedding dresses you won’t feel until the day of if you’ve never worn it around. Bridal’s give you the opportunity to see if something rubs you the wrong way, itches, needs to be hemmed more, or if there's anything you simply didn’t end up liking about it in the photos. Most alterations will tell you to do bridals for this exact reason. They can fix these things for you so you aren’t red or raw on your wedding day.

Bridal Portrait Canvas

We always love a good bridal portrait canvas out as decoration on the wedding day. You can put in on the bar, on the groom's cake table, the mantle, or around. We will hide it before the ceremony and then turn it around after. Show off how good you look! Afterwards use it in your house somewhere. The bathroom, the bedroom, a guest bedroom. It will remind you how GOOD you looked and felt.

Wedding Attire

This is also a great time to try everything together and see it on camera. You can see if everything looks the way you had imagined and how it looks in photos. Are your heels the right height? Do your earrings look good with your dress? Is your veil hitting where you want it too for photos.

Test Bridal Bouquet

Bridals are specifically a great time for florists to be able to do a test run with your bouquet. 9/10 times a bride has a tweak or two they want to make. It gives you a chance to see what your bouquet will look like, the color, how big it’ll be, what flowers your florist will use. This might be your chance to decide if you want your bouquet to be more round, heart shaped, hand gathered, ribbon hanging off of it, if you want it brighter or darker.
