When did you know you loved to do makeup?
I knew I loved to do makeup from an early age— I was always playing in my mom’s makeup and when I was little, I always carried around a purse full of lipstick everywhere I went! It was always fun to play with and as I got older, it became more of a passion and something that I really enjoyed spending my time doing.
Who was the first person who told you that you should start a make up business?
My best friend told me that I should start pursuing makeup for years and exactly twelve days after I married my husband, she started the Facebook page for “Makeup By Cali”. This outlet allowed me to share products that I loved and then I transitioned into becoming a full time makeup artist.
When and how did you get into special occasions makeup- specifically weddings?
I started specializing in wedding makeup about a year after I started pursuing makeup full time. I knew I loved weddings, loved being apart of someone’s BIG day and I specifically loved the joy the wedding days bring!
What is your favorite(s) makeup products?
Hourglass + Charlotte Tilbury everything.
I can’t choose— but if I had to, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer is the shade Luminous Light is absolutely stunning. Charlotte Tilbury’s lipstick in the shade PillowTalk is incredible and should be in everyone’s makeup bag!
What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing clients reactions after they have their makeup done— it just feels so rewarding and knowing that they feel beautiful and confident, means my “job” is so much more than a job.
What is the hardest part of your job?
I can’t say there really is a hard part about my job. Doing makeup is always so rewarding and having new clients is refreshing!
What should brides know about you?
My brides should know that I will probably cry at their wedding— because all of the relationships that I have built with brides mean so much and to be apart of engagements, showers, bridals, and their wedding day is so special!
My brides should also know that I am very thankful for each and every one of them and I will do anything I can to make their day perfect.
What should brides know about wedding makeup?
Brides should know that their wedding makeup doesn’t have to be super heavy to “look good in photos”. Enhancing natural beauty is what I do best.♥️
